SKYBAY Education believes in "Visualizing the Molecular World!" We
create models of the marvels in the microscopic and sub-microscopic
world. Molecules, viruses, and the wonderous polymers of life are our
cup of tea.
We strive to promote "Molecular Awareness". That is, awareness of the molecular nature of the physical universe. This could, for example, simply be in how we view the comment, "Chew your food". Of course, it is important to chew your food so that you don't choke on big chunks. But, in addition, if you chew your food completely, you give your taste receptors a better chance to come in contact with all the molecules of flavor in your meal. These molecules are your friends, and can become a part of you, if you take the time to fully assimilate them. We have two types of modeling systems, one is a magnetic DNA model (MagDNA) and the other uses Zometool balls and struts to model molecules, viruses, and DNA. MagDNA MagDNA is the first manipulable DNA model. With MagDNA, students of all ages can see how DNA does its most basic of life's processes. Real DNA is dynamic just like the MagDNA model. In our animations, see how MagDNA can be manipulated, just like the real DNA in your cells. DNA replication and transcription are essential DNA processes that show how DNA's structure helps determine its function. Check out all the MagDNA offerings by clicking the MagDNA Models link on the left. Zometool Models In collaboration with Zometool, Inc., SKYBAY Education has developed molecular modeling systems and other scientific models. The bright and colorful Zometool balls and struts are ideally suited for making shapes in nature. The bright people at Zometool are ideal partners in bringing you these shapes of nature. Check out the collaborative Zometool offerings by clicking the Zometool Models link on the left. For all the amazing Zometool products, click the link below. Visit the ZomeWorld Dr. Steve Yoshinaga developed these scientific models and has written entertaining instructions in each model. Dr. Steve is a former research scientist who evolved into a science educator. For more about Dr. Steve, click on the Human Resources link. These models are not only educational, but they are aesthetically pleasing as well. We make science come to life! | ![]() |
